We are committed to increasing women’s influence and impact in the world.

Oxford Saïd is supporting this year's International Women's Day campaign, 'Balance for Better', with our own series of inspiring events to create a climate of change for women in the world of business.

Many of the events are open to the public where stated, some are uniquely for members of our School community. All events welcome everyone to participate, whatever their gender, as we believe it is everyone's responsibility to understand the issues and help create the climate for change.

As part of the Inspiring Women series, we offer a programme of events.

These include speaker sessions, skills and development workshops, networking and corporate engagement events, and student recruitment. We want to ensure that our students have access to the best business minds in the world and encourage them to engage with our incredible line-up of events.

 

Research

Research projects conducted in our different research areas offer new perspectives on the issues of women’s leadership and women’s economic empowerment.

Talent development

The Inspiring Women skills development programme is open to all students at Saïd Business School.

Both men and women are welcome to join the sessions, which focus on issues of interest to women seeking to build confidence and leadership potential. Sessions cover negotiation, networking, confidence for success, work-life balance, understanding boards, and imposter syndrome.

The programme draws on expertise from within the School – faculty and staff – and it also features outside speakers from a range of sectors.

  • a 'Pathway to the board' workshop with Claire Davenport (CEO of Hello Fresh), Celia Francis (CEO of Rated People), and Ariane Gorin (President, Expedia Partner Solutions, Expedia Management Board)
  • a salary negotiation skills workshop for current MBA students in partnership with leading salary negotiation experts – The Gap Partnership
  • a brand and impact workshop for current MBA students in partnership with three Cargyll consultants: a psychologist, performance coach and voice/impact coach
  • Associate Dean Kathy Harvey in conversation with Brenda Trenowden, Global Chair of the 30% Club and Head of FIG Europe, ANZ Bank
